Originally reported at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/916000 Yesterday after running update and upgrade, empathy was uninstalled, i think dependency issues, i just installed empathy from terminal today after running update again. but after a few browsing with empathy, apport pop-up and send me to this bug report. Looking that trace it looks more like a Cairo or Gdk issue than an Empathy one. Can you reproduce? Are you experiencing similar crash with other apps?
(In reply to comment #1) > stack trace file > https://i89845923.restricted.launchpadlibrarian.net/89845923/Stacktrace.txt?token=103ea989bd26f3bc03871318d490d50c That link does not work. The correct link is https://i89845923.restricted.launchpadlibrarian.net/89845923/Stacktrace.txt
i have the same crash about some days ago but now i am on 3.3.5. i saw the stacktrace i guess it would be help full and so i said the reporter to upstream it but he may be lost.:) so i upstream it. and in my experience i have seen this crash with my own system but don't remember the steps to reproduce it.
Bilal: Do you still see this in 3.3.9x?
no i didnt face this again
this bug is again occured i have seen 2 or 3 dups in downstream ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: empathy 3.5.4.1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-7.7-generic 3.5.0 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-7-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.4-0ubuntu6 Architecture: i386 Date: Sun Aug 5 17:00:17 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/empathy InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Alpha i386 (20120724.2)
If this still happens in 3.12.x, what are steps to reproduce the problem?
