GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 670413
Error when transferring music to Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Last modified: 2018-05-24 17:20:39 UTC
I am attempting to transfer music to my Samsung Galaxy Nexus. When I start Rhythmbox (with the Nexus NOT connected) I get the following errors: > (rhythmbox:7993): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: libmtp error: Get Storage information failed. > > (rhythmbox:7993): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: libmtp error: PTP Layer error 02fe: get_handles_recursively(): could not get object handles. > > (rhythmbox:7993): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: libmtp error: (Look this up in ptp.h for an explanation.) > > (rhythmbox:7993): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: libmtp error: PTP Layer error 02fe: get_handles_recursively(): could not get object handles. > > (rhythmbox:7993): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: libmtp error: (Look this up in ptp.h for an explanation.) After that, I connect the Nexus and drag one song over to it. After waiting for a while, Rhythmbox pops up the following error message: > Error transferring track > Unable to send file to MTP device: PTP Layer error 02ff: send_file_object_info(): Could not send object info. One person I talked to mentioned that Rhythmbox actually segfaults when he tries to drag a track over. I seem to remember this happening to me too when I used an older version of Rhythmbox. Most likely a bug in libmtp or your phone. > One person I talked to mentioned that Rhythmbox actually segfaults when he > tries to drag a track over. This person needs to file a full bug report.
(In reply to comment #1) > This provides absolutely no information beyond "something crashed". This > person needs to file a full bug report. That's all he gave me. I'll send a note to the libmtp people to see if they can confirm that this is a libmtp bug. Thanks for the insight!

Could this be a dupe of bug 668389?
Sorry for the duplicate comments everywhere. I keep getting ISE's from bugzilla.gnome.org.
