GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 670264
GnuCash won't open on User Account of Installer
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:06:35 UTC
A few months ago, I began using Windows 7 on a new computer. I reinstalled GnuCash, which I have been using for several years, and had no problems until a few days ago, when I could not open GnuCash and received a message saying that the file gnucash.exe was not valid. I downloaded the latest version of GnuCash (2.4.10 - 1) and, working from my User Account, installed it. However, the program will not run on my User Account - A splash screen flashes on and then off, and then the program vanisehs and does not show up under Applications on the Task manager, although I find the file gconfd-2.exe shows as a Process. The program does, however, work when I launch it from the Administrator Account. I have transferred ownership of gnucash in Program Files to my User Account, but this doesn't get it working. Can anyone assist?
Sorry for the long inactivity on this report. We've got some new versions released since then. Does the error still occur with 2.4.12?

Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
