Hi,

I think that nautilus should create the thumbnails in a subdirectory of $XDG_CACHE_HOME.

This seems coherent with other applications.

Looks like duplicate bug #494592 was closed as NOTABUG

The points raised by Michael on bug 494592 still applies.
Anyway, this is not a Nautilus bug, but a gnome-desktop one, and it's a duplicate of bug 646508 (it even has possible patches).
