Description davidpbrown 2012-02-12 20:20:26 UTC
[Create New Document] seems to ignore umask = default file permissions. That's in both the right-click and File menus.

Example:
> umask 0007 #removes other user default read access permission.
> umask #to see the preference is noted.
Test > touch test.txt #see how umask is actioned.

Appending .bashrc with 'umask 0007' and rebooting actions that umask permanently.

So, touch or other system calls to create files acknowledge the umask setting but Nautilus file creation still creates files with o=r instead of o=

This is Nautilus 3.2.1 under Mint 12.
