Description Bhaavan Merchant 2012-02-06 18:59:18 UTC
The Gnome Control Center supports entering of HTTP proxy and applying it system wide. However, it doesnt support a field to enter Username and password for HTTP proxies which require authentication.

Because of this, I am unable to use softwares like Empathy as they are unable to connect to the network.

Which exact GNOME version and distribution is this about?
Comment 2 Bhaavan Merchant 2012-02-07 10:53:31 UTC
Gnome 3.2. Distribution: Gentoo.

The problem also persists in Ubuntu 11.10 which uses 3.2.
