GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 669419
Zero balance accounts not unhidden correctly when adding a transaction.
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:06:03 UTC
When show zero total accounts is unchecked under View->Filter By on the other tab and one adds a transaction to a zero total account so that it no longer has a zero total, the account does not show up in the accounts page(s) that has show zero total accounts unchecked until restart or reset of the show zero total accounts option. Selecting View->Refresh does not show the account. How to reproduce: 1. Open GnuCash and create a new file, create the default account hierarchy. 2. Create some transactions. 3. Go to View->Filter by and deselect show zero total accounts on the other tab. 4. Now create a new transaction to one of the now hidden accounts. Notice that the hidden account that the transaction was added to is still hidden. 5. Try hitting ctrl+r or clicking View->Refresh, the hidden account still does not show up. Work arounds: * If you create a new accounts page it will show as normal on the new account page. * If you go to View->Filter by and select and deselect show zero total accounts it will then show. * If you restart GnuCash it will then show the account normally.
This is probably a duplicate of Bug 510548.

Geert, would you be so kind as to change the status of this ticket to NEW? Bug 510548, which you just marked and closed as duplicate was a confirmed bug. So should this one be, as it was reported by multiple users, namely johnfbiii and myself.
Of course. I didn't pay attention. It's confirmed now.
Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
