Description carlo 2012-01-30 13:49:59 UTC
Using the API xmlNewReference, the generated XML file is not formatted correctly:

<example>
   &xml; <example1> text </ example1> <example2> text </ Example2> </ example>

instead of:

<example>
    &xml;
 <example1>
    text
 </ example1>
 <example2>
    text
 </ Example2>
</example>

Thanks

Is this a libxml++ bug or a libxml bug?
Comment 2 carlo 2012-01-30 20:39:02 UTC
Is a libxml bug.
Comment 3 carlo 2012-01-30 20:44:58 UTC
Is a libxml bug.

A solution could be related to the setting ctxt-> format = 1,when ctxt-> type = XML_ENTITY_REF_NODE in to module xmlsave.c ...............
Comment 4 Murray Cumming 2012-01-30 20:48:57 UTC
Reassigning to libxml then.
Comment 5 Murray Cumming 2012-01-31 09:16:20 UTC
I guess that a (C) test case would be useful. (I am not the libxml maintainer.)
Comment 6 GNOME Infrastructure Team 2021-07-05 13:25:00 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libxml2/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
