Description Saulo Toledo 2012-01-28 12:39:40 UTC
See the attached image. When trying rename the file, the file bar is at top of the file, blocking my view.

If Nautilus is at full screen mode, the gnome bottom bar can appear and even click at last file it's impossible.

The problem with the gnome bottom bar
Comment 2 Rui Matos 2012-01-28 15:32:17 UTC
If anything this would be a bug in the shell. The message tray only shows up if you move the mouse pointer to the bottom right monitor corner or if there's a notification.

Can you describe step by step how this happens for you? Does it always happen?
Comment 3 Saulo Toledo 2012-01-31 23:51:39 UTC
I'm not certainly about, but at least many of the situations are shell notifications. And I'm just using nautilus and the notification happens blocking my use: I need wait the notification bar back to his place to use the last file.

See the problem isn't only the shell bar: the nautilus hint it's another problem too. Then it's 2 things for the same problem.

I see this happen frequently because I normally use the details view ordered by date, and the last file in my folder it's always the newest.

I will pay more attention to check if the bar opens without notifications or something like this and if I can confirm this I will update this bug.

The nautilus hint is bug 651293.
Closing as a duplicate of that, since message-tray pointer avoidance bugs have a lot of literature in gnome-shell's bugzilla already.
