Hi,
I'm a long-time Quicken user and am researching alternative PFM packages to replace it.  GnuCash looks to be a viable alternative, however one of the features I'm looking for is a mobile (i.e, iOS and Android compatible) app that would allow users to sync remotely entered data in their smartphone with the PFM desktop application.  Moneydance as well as other PFM packages offer this feature, and I'm just wondering if there are any plans for GnuCash to offer this in the future.  Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Still no plans? GnuCash for Android seams like a great app, if only it could sync!

Dropbox intigration or some other service would be perfect for my use!

Plans no. A desire yes.

The reality of the current code base is that it's rather impossible to port it to Android or ios.

It's part of the long-term strategy to change this. Every strategic decision currently taken keeps this in mind. A first pre-condition to even start thinking about a port to a mobile OS is that the engine should be fully migrated to C++/Boost and be guile free.

At the current rate unfortunately this will probably still take a couple of years :(
