The add button doesn't quite look right. The loupe icon and clear button in the entry should be symbolic.

In fact, there shouldn't be two icons. The loupe icon should be placed on the right and turn into the clear icon when there is content in the entry.

See the system-settings or gnome-documents for existing implementations.

Is that documented somewhere? Wondering how Empathy and Evolution behave...

Not yet. We might want to include it in the design patterns section of HIG3.

I'm not sure why the add button looks like that for you. For me the button isn't visible until clicking, similar to nautilus.
