GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 668129
Dual monitors: Primary above secondary monitor: user notification area covers top of secondary
Last modified: 2012-01-17 19:34:33 UTC
Created attachment 205476 [details] The notification area covering top of the secondary monitor Hi, When using dual monitors with the primary configured to be above the secondary, the user notification area covers the top of the primary monitor when it is "hidden". When it pop ups onto the secondary (for instance to notify me of a new e-mail), it slides away from the secondary. So now I know where the notification area is hiding when hidden! ;) I have attached a screen shot to clarify what I mean. It shows what it looks like most of the time. I have another screen shot that shows what happens when a notification of new mail appears, but it seems I can only attach one attachement to this bug report. It show that more details about the new mail that are supposed to pop up on mouse over are al ready visible on the monitor below. (Note that my top monitor is less wide, hence the black on the sides of it.) It doesn't look good at all like this and it also hinders using windows because I cannot click through the notification area. Kind regards, Daan

Fixed in 3.2, where the message tray always is located on the bottom-most monitor. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 636963 ***
