Debug console output : unable to use a local Jabber server

Hi.

I'm using an Ejabberd server that can only be joined by an SSH tunnel. That works perfectly with other client like Pidgin. But Il really need voice exchanges, and I prefer to use Empathy to do so.

My problems :
- first, it's impossible (at least in my version - 3.2.0.1-0ubuntu1.1 - to create an account like foo@localhost. A dot in the server name is absolutely needed. That does not make sense !
- replacing localhost with 127.0.0.1 allows me to carry on the process of creating an account. But I cannot connect to the server (network error) ;
- I tried to use /etc/hosts, setting a name like "jabber.local" to address 127.0.0.1 : failed !
- using the ability of overloading the server parameters does not help anymore.

I repeat : in the same conditions, Pidgin works perfectly.

I join as an attachment the output of the debug console.

Thanks for your attention. Regards,

Al.
