once we click on the contact to select it than when we click again on the side of the contact than we are not be able to un-select it..i guess a new feature request.
ubuntu 11.10
as well as in 12.04

Why was this forwarded upstream? Isn't https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/636547/comments/3 correct?

From bug 667645, likely meant for this one:

--- Comment #2 from Muhammad bilal shahid 2012-01-11 11:29:55 UTC ---
we want that we should not hold the ctrl key to do so.

So what is the proposal to make this easier?
Comment 3 Bilal Shahid 2012-01-11 11:53:55 UTC
the proposal is that when we click one time on contact it got selected and when we click again than it got unselected..

Is there any treeview in GNOME working that way?
Comment 5 André Klapper 2012-04-04 11:43:05 UTC
No, this would be inconsistent. Proposing either WONTFIX, or moving it to gtk+ first where this would likely be WONTFIXed too.
