Description Tomasz Sterna 2012-01-02 19:33:34 UTC
I have two XMPP accounts configured. One of them autojoins few MUC chatrooms on start.

Every time I start Empathy, it crashes (aborts).

(empathy:2973): folks-CRITICAL **: string_strip: assertion `self != NULL'
failed
**
tp-glib:ERROR:channel-contacts.c:732:_tp_channel_contacts_handle_owners_changed:
assertion failed: (self->priv->group_contact_owners != NULL)

If I quickly relaunch Empathy it works fine.

There is a lot more information about this issue in RedHat Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=753565

The first error seems to be https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=661475

I opened https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44858 for the second one.

I'm closing the bug for now but feel free to re-open if you still have issues once those 2 bugs are fixed on your system.
