Description Alex 2011-12-20 17:16:37 UTC
Hello everybody!
I'm talking about windows tiling feature.
Dragging window to the left or to the right screen border resizes window so it takes (left or right) half of the screen. Cool. But when we drag window to the top of the screen it's being maximized. But we have already minimum 3 ways to maximize window (title double click, maximize button, right click-> maximize). Why don't we resize window so it will take top half of the screen when we drag it to the top border and bottom half when we drag it to the bottom border? It could be much more usefull then one more way to maximize window.
What do you think about it?

The patches from bug 607694 are probably horribly outdated and don't apply anymore, but they are based on mutter's initial tiling patches and could be used as a start for metacity as well.
