GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 666476
mp3 ratings by id3v2 POPM read support
Last modified: 2018-05-24 17:16:00 UTC
I have spent a great deal of time rating my mp3 files and writing those ratings using the program "Media Money" to the id3 tag (under POPM field). It would be really nice if i was able to import those ratings. Please note that I am not asking for write support and I understand the apprehension regarding writing ratings to an mp3 file. Currently I only know of XBMC which supports reading POPM field. Some information regarding how XBMC supports POPM: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Preparing_your_Music#Ratings_in_ID3_tags Info Regarding Mp3 Rating Support: http://www.id3.org/id3v2.3.0#head-2452ec9cf8b42c5c117b518b69e129ff67970852
Do these tags show up in any useful form when you run 'gst-discoverer-0.10 file.mp3'?
sadly no... i do see other data but not the POPM/rating data. I'm assuming this means first file an enhancement bug with gstreamer folk?
Yes, that's correct.
Jojo: Did you file a report against gstreamer (bug number?) that could be linked from here?
i just took care of it -> Bug# 670156 <- :)
