For example it's pretty common to see things like:

    /¯¯¯\ David Copperfie
    | ☺ | ld
    \___/

It would be much better to insert the break between the words where possible and ellipsize when not.

This bug is the same as bug 663249. This one has a patch to fix the issue. Although with the new mockups maybe it won't be needed at all.
