Description David Scurrah 2011-12-13 02:25:34 UTC
After following the procedure for installing user theme extensions,
the gnome-tweak-tool declares that user themes extension is not enabled on theme page even though it is on the shell extension page.

Gnome tweak tool version 3.2.1-1.fc16

After debugging the python it turns out that the tweak-shell.py file thinks that the user theme extension is "user-theme@gnome-shell-extensions.gnome.org" which is not true anymore it seems to now be
"user-theme@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com"

Yeah, this is fixed in HEAD (maybe the 3-2 branch). I probably need to do a release.
Comment 2 Finnbarr P. Murphy 2012-01-13 15:48:33 UTC
Surely the problem is with the spurious renaming of the extension from
    "user-theme@gnome-shell-extensions.gnome.org"
to
    "user-theme@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com"
by a Fedora 16 packager and not with g-t-t?

That was the original problem yes, but it is fixed in head.

I don't see why the packager renamed the package in F16!

Head should work with F17, otherwise the g-t-t packager should cherry pick the appropriate commits.

I'm the "Fedora 16 packager". The renaming happened when the version 3.2.1 of the GNOME Shell extensions was released, it was an upstream decision, not mine. If this problem was reported too to Red Hat Bugzilla, the consequences of such a renaming would have been fixed earlier in Fedora...
