GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 666006
Wrong and incomplete translation in French
Last modified: 2012-09-10 05:37:15 UTC
Hello, I do not know in which language to submit so I set the beginning in English. I have found a line which is half-translated and also the second part needs some rephrase. Here is the subject from the mailing-list, in French: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/trans-fr/2011-December/008957.html Résumé : Cette phrase : Could not register the application: Le délai d'attente est épuisé Devrait être traduite (pas sur pour le register) en : Impossible d'enregistrer l'application : le délai d'attente est dépassé.
I could not find the "Could not register the application" string in any of GTK+, glib or Nautilus. I fixed the other string. I changed it from "Le délai d'attente est épuisé" to "Le délai d'attente est dépassé". The fix has been commited to both master and the glib-2-30 branch.
(In reply to comment #1) > I could not find the "Could not register the application" string in any of > GTK+, glib or Nautilus. So Frédéric Peters did a grep for me on his massive GNOME checkout and he found the string, not marked for translation, in Nautilus (src/nautilus-application.c). Hence I'm reaffecting this bug to the Nautilus team to let them handle this issue and decide whether or not this should be marked.
Since those messages are user-visible, even if they happen on the console, I think it makes sense to translate them and avoid showing half-translated strings. I pushed a patch that does so to git master now, closing.
