after typing, still disabled search button

I don't understand. What do you mean by "add aardvark to empathy"? Looks like this service doesn't exist any more btw.
Aardvark was a web app. It contacted people by instant messenger. When it contacted people by instant messenger, It used the Aardvark account in Google Talk. When I tried to add Aardvark as a contact to Empathy, I couldn't, because the search button was disabled, so I couldn't communicate with Aardvark. Actually, I couldn't add anyone as contact to Empathy, because the search button was disabled, so I could only communicate with my existing contacts.
yeah that's because you should use the "add contact" dialog not the search one. I agree that's not very clear, we are planning to merge them at some point.
