Description Dagobert Michelsen 2011-12-09 09:03:08 UTC
I have a failing test in the test-activation suite for 2.32.1 on Solaris 10 Sparc 32 bit with Sun Studio 12:

+ exec /home/dam/mgar/pkg/gnome-base/libbonobo2/trunk/work/solaris10-sparc/build-isa-sparcv8plus/libbonobo-2.32.1/tests/test-activation/.libs/bonobo-activation-test
PASSED 1 of 17: Activation event source okay
Time to query '0.004222'
PASSED 2 of 17: timed query
Waiting to see if the server erroneously quits
** Message: Activation callback successfully called on register

** (process:2256): WARNING **: Async activation error activating 'IDL:Empty:1.0' : 'System exception: IDL:Bonobo/GeneralError:1.0 : Child process did not give an error message, unknown failure occurred'
FAILED 3 of 17: async activation
** Message: Activation callback successfully called on register
Test by async query succeeded
PASSED 4 of 17: async activation
Test from id succeeded

The most recent files which I assume are the logs contain this:

For solaris specific bugs I'd be tempted to contact your vendor.

You'd prolly want to get a strace equivalent to see what part of unix sockets it is not liking.

ORBit2 is rather near the end of it's life at this point.

Then again - if this is not a test that is run during 'make check' it is quite possible that it has just bit rotted.

HTH.

This is the "truss" log of the relevant part after passing test 2 until end of failed test 3.
