Description narnie 2011-12-06 04:50:06 UTC
Hello,

I would like to submit a feature request for the overview. In having many windows open, sometimes it is hard to tell what program with which the window is associated.

I suggest that there be an icon (I suggest the left upper corner of each window) that is associated with the main program to allow for easy identification of the window's associated program. I would love to see a little Firefox icon when I need firefox, a little gEdit icon when I need it, and LibreOffice icon to help guide my eyes to the LibreOffice window.

Sometimes, there text underneath the windows just isn't enough to easily and rapidly identify the window. A program icon for that window would help focus the eye on the needed program's window quickly and efficiently. I would hope this would be easy to implement without adding a lot of overhead to overview.

Regards,
Narnie

Thanks or the suggestion. This is what we were doing in early versions, and it was removed on request from the designers. So it won't be implemented again as-is. OTOH, bug 661042 may well be committed, and it will likely fix the problem you're reporting (see the screenshots there).

Hey, that works great, probably even better than my idea because they eye only has to look one place rather than 2. It looks good, too. Thanks.
