Description hotani 2011-11-29 17:56:43 UTC
While typing a message in Empathy, if another message is received, the notification will pop-up mid-screen blocking text entry and stealing focus.

1- there needs to be a way to turn off full IM notifications completely
2- never show if user is actually using an IM app (empathy or pidgin)

How about a gentle glow emanating from the notification area? I don't want to stop everything and reply every time someone sends me an IM. Nor do I want to change my status to "Busy" or "Unavailable" all day to avoid pop-ups.
