GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 664716
Live365 stream buffering at 0% all the time
Last modified: 2020-03-17 09:29:29 UTC
Originally reported at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/817531 I installed banshee-extension-liveradio. I can browse the available radios, select a Live 365 radio and click on them to play. However they're always buffering (at 0%) so at the most I can listen to 2 seconds of music, 2 seconds of silence and then again, ad infinitum. It's not a network problem as I'm able to listen to other radios (such as http://s1.viastreaming.net:7170/) without problem. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: banshee-extension-liveradio 2.0.0-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-10.46-generic 2.6.38.7 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-10-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Jul 28 10:21:08 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Beta 1 i386 (20110329.1) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: banshee-community-extensions UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
I am having the same problem. It happens not only on Live365 but on all internet radio stations. The stream is not being buffered, causing intermittent playback. I'm on 11.10 and am using the daily repo.
Based on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee-community-extensions/+bug/817531/comments/5, it looks like the problem fixed itself on Ubuntu Natty.
Still having it on 11.10 ver. 2.4.0.
I don't know why this bug remains unconfirmed. Launchpad reports confirm it, and nobody here has asked for any additional information. Is there any way I can help this bug find resolution? I cannot code, but I can report.
Confirming, given that there is more than one reporter.
Same problem with Banshee on Linux Mint 14. Works fine running in Firefox. Live365 and xiph stations
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again. See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
