GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 664331
maximized window appears on wrong monitor
Last modified: 2013-02-16 07:57:35 UTC
Overview: In case of a multi monitor setup, where the left monitor isn't the primary, window positon isn't restored correctly. Starting an application with a maximised window, will move the window to the left screen. Even if the right screen is the primary screen. Steps to Reproduce: 1) configure a multi monitor setup with nvidia twinview where the right is the primery 2) start an application on primary sceen, maximize the window, close the application. 3) start the application again Actual Results: the window appears on the primary sceen, but is then moved to the left screen. Expected Results: the window should appear on the screen, where it was closed, and stay there.
I noticed the same thing with chromium. It starts in fullscreen mode on the wrong monitor (geometricaly first, but not the primary). If i then click the restore button in the WM the window jumps to the primary monitor. Also, modal shell dialog windows (eg logout confirm) appears on the wrong monitor most of the time. I anyone can give me a pointer where to start/how to debug I will have a look at it.
happens in mutter-3.4.1 / gnome-shell-3.4.2 too.
seems to be fixed in 3.6.3, thx.
Indeed, this was included in mutter-3.6.3
