GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 663854
gnome-screenshot unable to overwrite file, says the file already exist and close after having shown an error
Last modified: 2012-01-26 21:51:05 UTC
this report has been filed here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-utils/+bug/871135 g-s version is 3.2.1-0ubuntu1 "How to reproduce this bug : -Open gnome-screenshot -make a screenshot -ask to save the picture on a already existing file. Result ON A GTK DIALOG type GTK_MESSAGE_ERROR : Error while copying "Screenshot.png". there was an error copying the file into /home/ubuntu/Documents/ad. Error stating file '/tmp/gnome-screenshot.2325.0/Screenshot.png': No such file or directory"
using 3.3.1 without gnome-shell it doesn't ask what to do or offer to replace the file but just displays an error saying the file already exists
This is now fixed in git master.
