Description Hammer Attila 2011-11-04 06:40:11 UTC
Dear Developers,

I am not have experiences correct reporting GTK+ related bugreports, so if you need any test related data, please describe me what can I need doing. I see following problem under GTK3 for gtkTextview widget related:
If presenting a screen a GtkTextview widget, first time I unable to move with keyboard the textview contents for example with arrow keys, or perhaps the A11y related informations not right passing this widget for example with Orca Screen Reader. I see this problem for example with Gedit application, and the gtk3-demo application if I click the multiple view related textview demo.
If I switch other window and switch back the textview demo, the multiple textview control is focused right, and I possible moving the text with arrow key. This situation Orca Screen Reader correct read the text caret content.
In Gedit related, if I first launch Gedit for example with gedit anytext.txt file, I possible read only the required file content if I activating and close for example the main menu, or switch an another window and switch back the Gedit application window.

In oldest GTK2 gtkTextview widget I not see this type problem.

I using Ubuntu Oneiric with Orca latest master version.

Attila

Unfortunately this type issue is not only master version specific, I experienced this issue with GNOME 3.2 version too.

I think this is a timing issue. See bug 663992.

We're moving to gitlab! As part of this move, we are closing bugs that haven't seen activity in more than 5 years. If this issue is still imporant to you and
still relevant with GTK+ 3.22 or master, please consider creating a gitlab issue
for it.
