Description William Jon McCann 2011-11-01 21:20:27 UTC
When I'm chatting with someone and they go offline often I go over to the summary and remove the chat. It might be nice to offer to remove the chat when we see an "N is offline" message.

Probably just offering a "Remove" button in the bubble is fine. We'd have to remove it again when/if they come back online.

Jon, isn't this fundamentally the same as (and thus a duplicate of) bug #657278 ?
Comment 2 William Jon McCann 2012-10-30 22:08:41 UTC
No. This is about having an explicit action and the other is about automatic removal.
Comment 3 Jean-François Fortin Tam 2012-10-31 02:34:58 UTC
Yes, but I mean... why would you care about removing manually when you have it done automatically anyway?
Comment 4 GNOME Infrastructure Team 2021-07-05 14:39:57 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
