Sometimes, when a number of songs is added from library to "play queue" and playback is started, only the first unplayed song in the queue is played and then playback is stopped; that 1st song (that has just been listened) is not grayed out as listened, but remains black as new in the queue.
After double-click on the 1st or the 2nd song (which are not greyed-out as listened) the playback goes well and doesn't stop on the 1st, 2nd or whatever song.

I have the same problem. Sometimes it happens just as in the description of the original report, but occasionally after playing the first song in the queue banshee will play a song not from the queue (typically it is from the first album in the library, but songs from other albums have also been played).
It happens with the first two tracks in the queue, after that I can add more songs to the queue and playing will be normal as long as I add them while the queue is not empty. Allowing banshee to play all the songs in the queue "resets" the problem, in the sense that the problem will happen again for subsequent additions to the queue.

Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
