Works fine here on x86-64. My guess is that it only happens on i686. Could you attach the output of: ./parser --verbose ?
Created attachment 199666 [details] output of dbus-launch ./parser --verbose >/tmp/parser-verbose 2>&1 Just the last part of the log inline, full in attachment: GTest: run: /parser/parsing/out_of_order_asx (MSG: Got retval 0 for uri 'file:///var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/totem-pl-parser-2.32.6/work/totem-pl-parser-2.32.6/plparse/tests/pukas.wax') ** ERROR:parser.c:620:test_parsing_out_of_order_asx: assertion failed: (result != FALSE) Aborted

Does the file: /var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/totem-pl-parser-2.32.6/work/totem-pl-parser-2.32.6/plparse/tests/pukas.wax exist? Does running: ./parser --debug file://`pwd`/pukas.wax work? Line numbers getting out of sync gave me lots of trouble in one of projects I contribute to (chromium.org), so I almost acquired a habit of copy-pasting a piece of code with accompanying line numbers.
(In reply to comment #5) > URI > 'file:///var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/totem-pl-parser-2.32.6/work/totem-pl-parser-2.32.6/plparse/tests/pukas.wax' > dual type has type 'application/x-drivel' from data The WAX file is getting detected as a "drivel" file. That's a bug in their definition.
(In reply to comment #6) > The WAX file is getting detected as a "drivel" file. That's a bug in their > definition. Right, I confirm that after uninstalling drivel this test passes. Conversely, installing it should allow you to reproduce the bug.
The last Drivel code changes took place in 2006: https://git.gnome.org/browse/archive/drivel/log/ This project is not under active development anymore. This project has been recently archived in GNOME Git. It is currently unlikely that there will be any further active development. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this bug report in the future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
