GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 662237
byzanz-record, Ctrl-C, no gif
Last modified: 2018-07-01 08:25:26 UTC
Could byzanz-record be configured to quit gracefully and write the file when Ctrl-C is pressed? This happens when I pkill -1 byzanz-record. Also, is there a plan regarding Shell having no applets?
I never looked into handling signals, so I don't know how to best implement it, but I'd welcome the feature a lot. And no, I don't have a solution to the no-applet situation. Maybe hijacking a screen edge to bring up a cancel button would work? I'd have to ask the design team about how to best handle it.

Byzanz is not under active development anymore and has not seen code changes for more than five years. Its codebase has been archived: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/byzanz/commits/master Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
