Description David Carlson 2011-10-18 17:44:11 UTC
It is impossible to select and include parent (broker) accounts in this report. Thus at times when there is a cash balance in a parent broker account on the report date, it cannot be included. Thus the report cannot be configured to match the broker statement.

I would guess that this is why bug 345385 and it's predecessor 334662 have not been resolved.

Could you add an example gnucash file?

My understanding is, that his report is not meant to show cash balances. Maybe I miss something here...

Apparently I mis-understood the report title. I thought that it would be similar to an asset balance report tuned for investment accounts. However, if it could show totals of securities across all accounts it would be more useful to me. I have some of the same stocks in several different accounts.

Are you talking about the Advanced Portfolio report? It only includes accounts with non-currency commodities. Parent broker accounts are not included by design.

I agree that showing the total of a given security across all accounts would be useful, but that is a separate issue, I think.

Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
