"Open a nautilus window, press F3 to open and extra pane, either new pane will be squished or if you click on a file in one pain the other pane will be squished to one icon wide (really annoying if you have lots of files or in are comparing properties in list mod). This is new to ubuntu 11.10 and gnome 3.2. It did not happen on ubuntu 11.04 with gnome 3.0 installed.
