GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 662072
Unable to change theme / colors
Last modified: 2012-03-01 15:39:17 UTC
The lack of ability to set themes, colors & font sizes etc is enough to prevent usage on notebook. The standard scheme is too dark, especially moving between activities & applications The icon size for applications is large & the font size of labels is too small Without the ability to customise the desktop I am sorry to say all the other good work which has clearly gone into the new interface is wasted. There are also many situations where live messaging & chat is not relevant so all of these areas need to be able to be disabled or customised
This bug is vague and not really related to the package, I think you're referring to the gnome shell theme also, I suggest to open indiviadual bugs against gnome shell for color scheme darkness and icon sizes and against gnome-control-center for customizations and the like. Closing.

Closing. What is vague about reporting the product is unusable due to the lack of ability to customise colors and font/icon sizes ? I have clearly indicated the mismatch between font and icon sizes If it should be moved to be a bug of another component of gnome by all means move the report to that component but to write it it off as invalid is disrespectful to say the least
(In reply to comment #2) > What is vague about reporting the product is unusable due to the lack of > ability to customise colors and font/icon sizes ? > > I have clearly indicated the mismatch between font and icon sizes It's vague for a number of reasons: - you did not specify whether your comment applies to the Shell or to GTK applications - you are able to set a font size from the Universal Access control panel, using GSettings tools like GNOME Tweak Tool. Such tools also give you the ability to easily change both the GTK theme and the Shell theme - "The icon size for applications is large & the font size of labels is too small" is a vague sentence without at least a screenshot of an example where this happens
