Description Tonic Artos 2011-10-17 12:16:50 UTC
When renaming a file the name may be clipped by the view pane. This is a particular problem on small screens with long filenames.

I believe an elegant solution would be, when renaming a file, to use a floating widget in which you edit the filename. This widget should only be used for the duration of the edit action and not be clipped by the view pane or the window border.

This problem has been fixed in the unstable development version in the form of a new dialog for renaming.

This was done in commit 420423d12a13f708f60b20d65e1f3b1aa2e9d7ff

The fix will be available in the next major software release. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain that newer version.
