Description Andreas J. Guelzow 2011-10-14 19:11:48 UTC
This is
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=645218

When usign databse functions, if I want one of the criteria to match for
a string, I can put either of these values in the criteria cell:

mystr
="=mystr"

The latter is the only one accepted by Excel. The former is equivalent
in Gnumeric, but in Excel it means to match a string beginning with
"mystr". This not only creates an incompatibility with .xls files
created with Excel, but moreover deprives Gnumeric of the very
interesting ability to match an initial substring as a criterion.
