GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 661269
suppress status bar
Last modified: 2011-11-11 10:03:55 UTC
status bar is always present and never displaying any info. actually there's no reason to display info into it. let's suppress the obsolete status bar and enjoy a better interface.
Currently it's used to give a description of the menu items when the mouse is hovering. This doesn't seem like a good reason to have the status bar, though. I'll get rid of it if no one brings up any good reasons to keep it around.
(In reply to comment #1) > description of the menu items when the mouse is hovering. Sounds ideal for a tooltip instead.
