When searching within a register screen, can search by "Description Contains" but not "Memo Contains".  Results in no entries found.

While you report has gone unnoticed for quite some time, I'm happy to report this has been implemented in the 2.6.x series of gnucash for some time now.

It is now possible to search the Memo field.

Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
