Description kid1000002000 2011-10-02 22:02:12 UTC
Using Ubuntu 11.04.

1. Select the calendar in unity's top bar near the power icon.
2. Leave the computer alone to timeout
3. Computer screen goes off, but moving the mouse causes chaos to happen. Screen is not locked or shows the desktop and allows navigation as long as the (calendar) menu is selected.

This has been discussed. See bug 143111 and probably others.

We could fix this in a wayland world, by having the system compositor do the lock/unlock. That's probably the right long term fix.

We can do better in the interim by having a cooperative "break grabs" message that the screensaver sends out and apps (well the toolkits under the apps) try to accomodate.

It's a "hard" problem though.
