Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, etc. have been patching this since 2009
since they use knetworkmanager instead.

Slightly better patch. First, unlike the one above, it actually applies to current network-manager-applet git head :)
Second, the connection editor should presumably be shown in all desktop environments where nm-applet is getting autostarted, i.e. nm-connection-editor.desktop.in should have "NotShowIn=KDE;" instead of "OnlyShowIn=GNOME;".
