In glib-2.29.92/gio-2.0.pc.in,
Libs.private: @ZLIB_LIBS@ @LIBASYNCNS_LIBADD@

configure does not have "LIBASYNCNS_LIBADD" substitute.

below is result
$ pkg-config --libs --static gio-2.0
@LIBASYNCNS_LIBADD@ -pthread -lgio-2.0 -lz -lgobject-2.0 -lffi -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lgthread-2.0 -lglib-2.0 -lrt  

Please sed "s/@LIBASYNCNS_LIBADD@//" -i gio-2.0.pc.in

fixed on master and glib-2-30 (I'm assuming this counts as a "build
