Description Christian Rose 2001-12-02 19:47:29 UTC
When using intltool-update from 0.12 on GConf HEAD module:

$ LANG=C intltool-update sv
Working, please wait...error while opening "GConf$MAJOR_VERSION.pot" for
reading: No such file or directory
342 translated messages, 5 fuzzy translations.

...but the po file isn't updated, when one checks the generation date.
There is a "GConf$MAJOR_VERSION.po" file in the directory though,
presumably the one that should have been "GConf$MAJOR_VERSION.pot".

I don't get it - GConf doesn't use intltool.
Comment 2 Christian Rose 2001-12-02 23:56:30 UTC
Translators are advised to use intltool-update to update all gnome
translations, no matter if the module uses intltool itself or not,
which shouldn't matter from the translator's perspective.

In fact, one of the purposes of intltool was to remove the need for
update.sh or update.pl scripts in every po directory in cvs (which we
are in process of removing where they are present).

That's why this is a problem even though GConf doesn't use intltool
itself.
