Xsession crashes if login as root, but it starts if login as other user (gnome-login-check Crash at 65.229.13.131)

Package: gnome-core Version: 1.2.4(RH Linux 7.1) Severity: >Synopsis: Xsession crashes if login as root, but it starts if login as other user >Class: sw-bug System: Pentium III, 800M >Description: After enter username as root and password, it cleans screen for a short time ( username and password passed) and then drops back to login promt. If loged in as other user, in xterm using su command switch to root, and run /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession gnome it shows crashing message: Application "gnome-login-check" (process 1689) has crashed due to a fatal error ( segment failure) >How-To-Repeat: It just happens in one of my computers after run fsck -sA when startup failed and prompted to do so. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-12-01 21:37 ------- The original reporter (sczhang@msn.com) of this bug does not have an account here.
