Description mehdi 2011-09-11 17:42:11 UTC
When I fast forward any video, the subtitles always disappear, i have to reload them, i wanted to know if this bug is going to get fixed or if it's just a problem that I am experiencing myself.

I get this error with Totem 3.0.1

Fabio, wouldn't it be great if the bug in comment 0 actually had anything to do with what you're mentioning.

Mehdi, this isn't a known bug, you'll have to give better reproducer steps for us to try out. Also make sure you have recent versions of GStreamer and Totem.
Comment 3 mehdi 2011-09-12 19:24:53 UTC
Well, when I open a video with Totem and I fast foward while a subtitle is loaded, it often disappears, I said often because sometime it seems to stay...
Comment 4 Philip Withnall 2011-09-12 19:49:48 UTC
What version of Totem do you have? What version of GStreamer do you have? What format is the video in? What format are the subtitles in? Do the subtitles consistently disappear with a given video format or subtitle format?
Comment 5 mehdi 2011-09-12 19:52:50 UTC
I'm using Totem 2.32.0 and GStreamer 0.10.32, the videos are in .avi (moslty Xvid codec) and the subtitles are in .srt. They always disappear with any format.
Comment 6 Fabio Durán Verdugo 2011-12-07 21:40:42 UTC
mehdi can you try with totem 3.0.x or 3.2.x?
Comment 7 André Klapper 2012-01-16 10:55:47 UTC
Mehdi: Can you please try with 3.2 or 3.0 and update this report?
Comment 8 Tiago Gomes 2012-01-23 16:16:12 UTC
Hi,

I having the same problem. If i jump the video again sometimes they reappear immediately, sometimes after a few seconds, and sometimes never. If i jump backwards this also happens but with less frequency.

I tested with totem 3.0.1 and GStreamer 0.10.35. Subtitles were in .srt and i tested with .avi and .mkv containers using the H264 codec.

I have seen this issue in previous versions of Totem as well.
Comment 9 Julien Olivier 2012-02-07 09:34:42 UTC
I have tested this with Totem 3.0.1 in Ubuntu Precise (video in AVI format, subtitle in SRT) and the bug is still there.
Comment 10 André Klapper 2012-02-07 10:12:12 UTC
This really needs testing with Totem 3.2 or git master now, there is no work goign on for Totem 3.0 anymore as far as I know.
