Description Alex Hultman 2011-09-11 05:09:39 UTC
This is a very minor problem.

I like to use my remote control and media keys to change volume. It's just that I find the volume steps being too rough. One step down is too quiet and one step up is too loud. Currently my system uses 18 steps from mute to max. That is a very large leap.

This could easily be changed to like 50 steps, or, you could add an option in the gnome-control-center. I would rather have the 18 steps just changed to like 50 or 100 tough. If you think this many steps might have disadvantages I don't follow since it's just a matter of holding down the keys / buttons till you find the volume you like. I know this is a minor issue but I think people would like this.

Correct me if I'm wrong, this could be a setting from my distribution? I don't know but it feels like it has something to do with GNOME. I use Fedora 15 / 16.
