GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 658283
Scan existing cover art on import
Last modified: 2011-09-05 21:35:19 UTC
Right now there seems to be no way to add existing cover art to the library (either at import time or afterwards). I know about 'banshee --fetch-artwork', but I don't want to download any covers from the internet. Each of my album folders already contains a "cover.jpg" and it would be great if those files could be recognized on import.
Thank you for your bug report. Banshee already looks for cover art files in folders that contain an album: cover.jpg, folder.png, etc. So it sounds like it's not working for you. So I'm re-qualifying this as a bug. Are you music files tagged properly (Album title, track number, etc.) ? Could you provide the output of "ls -l" in a folder where cover.jpg is not picked up as cover art ?
Based on what Hernando explained in the IRC channel "i was talking about automatically recognizing album art - without the need to start playing a song from that album (which *does* work)", this sounds like a duplicate of bug #647898.
