GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 658138
Deleted messages remain shown with strikeout
Last modified: 2011-09-05 06:07:12 UTC
When the message is highlighted in the list, and Delete is pressed, the message disappears. When the message is dragged from the Inbox to another folder in the folder list on the left, the message remains with strikeout until new messages arrive or another mailbox is selected. With the latter, upon returning the messages are gone. When new messages arrive the deleted messages disappear. Message list is sorted by the "Received" field, with which I replaced the "Date" field. [View], [Show Deleted Messages] is not selected. `uname -a` == "Linux linus 3.0.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Sat Aug 27 16:21:11 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux" Debian Wheezy fresh install this past week, currently updated. Evolution verzion 3.0.2
Also, repeatable every time. Thanks! Rick
I read this twice and I don't understand what the bug is, what is the catual behavior, and what is your expected behavior, sorry. Is this about local mail (POP), or a remote account (such as IMAP)?
Created attachment 195650 [details] Deleted messages marked with Strikeout
Please see the attached image of my Evolution Inbox. I have a mail account on my web hosting company. I receive my mail using pop to my local copy of Evolution. The mail comes into my Inbox. Some of the mail I delete using the Delete key. When pressed, the message is deleted and fully disappears from my Inbox as expected. No problem. Other messages I Drag-N-Drop to folders in the Side Bar, on the left. When I Drag-N-Drop, the message is marked as deleted using Strikeout as you can see in the image. This is NOT as expected! I would expect to see the deleted messages disappear completely regardless of whether the messages were deleted with the Delete key, or by Drag-N-Drop. If left alone, the messages remain as displayed, until a new message arrives, at which time the deleted messages marked with strikeout disappear. If I select another folder on the left, then return to the Inbox, the deleted messages disappear, even without new messages being received. This is repeatable every time. It seems to be some lack of a screen update in the Drag-N-Drop code. I hope this make things more clear. Thanks! Rick
