Description Lionel Dricot 2011-08-30 14:41:19 UTC
In order to improve the cooperation and the visibility of GNOME companies, I'm trying to set up a GNOME official support page.

https://live.gnome.org/GnomeSupport

To discuss that matter and future possible collaboration, it was suggested that we set up a mailing list (we= representative of companies like Openismus,Collabora,Lanedo,Codethink,Igalia and Openshine).

The proposed list could be something like:

professionnal-support-list
gnome-support-list
gnome-support-pro-list

Is this meant only for us to discuss things among ourselves, or as a point of contact for people looking for support? I don't think the latter is a very good idea, and I don't know how to stop it from being used for that.

Murray > I think we need it to discuss amongst ourselves. Then, we can decide if we need to advertize it or not (I tend to agree with you that it should not be the case but let's discuss it). If we don't want it to be used by people looking for support, we can just keep this address on the wiki, which means that it will be less discoverable.

Support is vague, you'd get support questions on that. Suggest professionals-list instead and expand the possible topics a bit.

Olav > that's a good idea. Can you create "professionals-list"?

Thanks a lot.
