Description john.alfredo 2001-11-29 22:35:53 UTC
Hi,
I use the deskguide_applet (6 desktops) and have noticed applications
(mostly gnome-terminal) show up in different desktops than where I invoked
them. I'm a S/W developer and use each desktop for a specific purpose, so
it's inconvenient to have windows showing up in other desktops.

I'm running enlightenment-0.16.4-7 although it appears that this window
manager has been discontinued from RedHat7.1? I don't know. Also, there's
another desktop manger that show's up at the edge of the screen (apparently
from RedHat7.1) that duplicates the functionality of deskguide except that
I can move windows to another desktop (although I would like them to stay
put!).

Should I be using sawfish instead of enlightenment on RedHat7.1? I don't
like to experiment with my desktop since I'm very busy doing Solaris
development and can't afford to be un-functional. Has anyone else noticed
this?

Yeah, this is an enlightenment problem. We strongly suggest you use
sawfish instead; if you don't want to use sawfish, file this bug with
enlightenment instead, since it controls where windows initially appear.
